Who doesn’t love a good brunch? We’re personally big fans of the popular meal, made famous, quite possibly, from its first appearance in Hunter’s Weekly, in 1895. And we’re here to tell you why it should be on your fan’s list too. So, without further ado, here are 6 reasons brunch should be on your menu for this week’s—or weekend’s—outing. But first, a little history.

WHERE DID BRUNCH COME FROM?

There are a few theories on where brunch got started, and depending on whom you talk to, their answer might be very different from others. Some think it was an English thing, dating back to the hunt breakfast, where individuals would eat several food courses, from eggs and protein to sweets.

Some think brunch got its start from Catholics. This is because Catholics would fast before Mass on Sundays, and once Mass broke, so did that fast, which happened to be around mid-day or what we now know as brunch hours.

Of course, there are a few other theories out there to debate. But I’d rather be eating! So, let’s dive into our top 6 reasons you should be eating brunch with us.

TOP 6 REASONS TO EAT BRUNCH, AT PARRANDO’S

Mimosas!!

Not just any Mimosa, Parrando’s Mimosas, made special, in-house with a little personal touch--to make anyone want to start happy hour a few hours early.

Did you know mimosas are the official drink of brunch? Okay, maybe not “official,” but we’re willing to give it the title. Some may argue the Bloody Mary to be the mascot of brunch, since it was technically thought to be born earlier. Still, we’re confident you’d agree after only one taste of our Parrando’s Mimosa.

Breakfast Enchiladas

If we’re going to be having a meal between breakfast and lunch, we have to combine the two food categories at least, right?. Of course! That’s why breakfast enchiladas makes our list of reasons you should have already gotten out of bed and headed to Parrando’s.

Because nothing beats two house-made tortillas filled with all your favorites to help ease the hangover. Of course, you don’t need to be curing a hangover to enjoy eggs, chorizo, vegetables, and, loads of gooey cheese melted all over a delicious enchilada.

Chorizo Enchiladas

And since we’re talking enchiladas, if veggies aren’t your thing—because we know what you’re really craving—we have the same from-scratch tortillas filled with chorizo and, of course, topped with your favorite melted cheese!

Eggs and Chorizo Wraps

What makes Parrando’s so special when it comes to brunch? Well, we specialize in it. In fact, we have an entire brunch menu dedicated to such a meal. And one of our favorite brunch-menu items is our wraps de huevos y chorizo, or the scrambled egg and chorizo wrap.

Eggs Benedict

Mexican benedictos or eggs benedict with Mexican flavor; if you’re looking for a reason to put on pants, this should get you there. Our eggs are topped with chorizo, cilantro scallions, avocado, and fresh queso. And, of course, it’s sitting on top of an English muffin.

Parrando’s Rancheros

Finally, if you’re really looking to balance out your brunch pallet, this dish will do it for you. With three layers of ground (or shredded) beef, smothered with a la charra beans, ranchero sauce, fresh queso, avocado, and of course two fried eggs—this is brunch after all—you’ll be looking for an excuse to do brunch every week.
